Expectations

My expectations are getting raised with every message from Dakar. Everyone tells me, "you are going to love it here". I am worried that I am getting set up to be disappointed and let down when everything isn't perfect. I've started to make a list of those things I will not like about living in Dakar just to keep me realistic--1. having to bargain for everything (it might be manageable in French but in Wolof?) 2. it will be extremely hot and humid when I arrive 3. plastic trash bags everywhere 4. insects everywhere 5. remembering to use sunscreen all the time--I'll know it when I forget.
